Deviant behaviour is seen in the community when the bonds of the members in society start breaking apart. The reason is that normally, citizens of the society care for each other, even if they are not responsible from each other they still do look after, but when the bonds start breaking apart, the members get away from each other and they start feeling left alone (Crossman, 2013). After that the member of the society starts behaving deviantly, which is basically type of behaviour, which does not apply the norms of the society (Crossman, 2013). Again, since the other members of the society start not caring the others, the ones left out would not think of what the rest of the society thinks so they would do whatever they want to. This is the main sociological factor on deviant behaviour and why it exists. The most significant impact on deviance would again be the sociological factors because since it means different behaviour towards other people in the society, it would only consider the members of that community (Crossman, 2013). The main deviant behaviours are the ones at the workplace and teenage smoking. For instance it is known by everybody that smoking has so many negative causes such as lung cancer, extreme cough etc. and every single teenager knows about it, but since they look for an excuse or something to blame because of what has happened in their lives, they start smoking (Crossman, 2013). Smoking is clearly not part of the society’s norms so when teenagers start smoking, it is considered as deviant behaviour. Another, negative impact of deviance is that people see from each other, and they sometimes start doing whatever they saw from the others. For example the main reason of teenage smoking is the other teenagers who do smoke and affect their peers negatively in that way (Crossman, 2013). On the other hand, deviant behaviour at workplaces is a big issue because since business includes other people’s money etc. it is more serious. Mainly United States’ economy gets affected by that because it was proved that three of every four employees reported having stolen at least once from the other employees (Appelbaum, 2013). Some other examples of deviant behaviour at workplaces are vandalism, robbery, sabotage, absenteeism, harrassment, rumor spreading, stealing from company, lying about hours worked, leaving early etc. Especially some of them are seen frequently at the workplaces such as absenteeism and leaving early because again, the members of the society affects each other negatively (Appelbaum, 2013). Since one member gets away from the rest of the society, he or she starts behaving deviantly, and in time, other workers get used to it and they start doing it too (Appelbaum, 2013). Even if it is against the norms of the workplace, sociological factors causes increase in deviance.
